Maybe the ACC doesn't deserve a Playoff team?

Anyone who watched the last ten minutes of the Clemson-Louisville game has to come to that conclusion. For the last week people have been talking about the "worst-case scenario" where two G5 teams make the Playoff. Maybe that's not such a bad thing after all.

Both the Tigers and the Cardinals did their best to throw away the game last night: Clemson had a flubbed punt, a near-fumble on the 2 yard line that was luckily a forward pass (by inches), went 1 of 13 on 3rd downs, and had several dropped passes.

Louisville made even more mistake, taking a sack on a critical 3rd down, missing two late field goals after being pushed back by penalties, and frittering away their last drive at the end of the game. A missed extra point on their first TD was the difference in the 20-19 game.

Louisville entered with a 3% chance to make the Playoff in our Playoff Odds; it's likely to fall to 0% in the competitive—and chaotic—ACC. 

Clemson has had an interesting ride the last few weeks in Bowl odds; the Tigers were 3-5 and around 16% when they beat Florida State 24-10, pushing their odds to 59%. Now, at 5-5 with Furman on the remaining schedule the Tigers will be essentially at 100%.
