Less formal than round by round as I also watch the college football playoffs
Rounds 1-3: Close, call them all 10-10 (see how detailed I'm being?) Fury might have edged the majority of these but not terribly clearly
Round 4: Usyk has best shot of round, Fury almost steals it at the end though
Round 5: Fury's best round, constant pressure and good combinations (good uppercut during round as Usyk entered)
Round 6: Usyk comes back and dominates round 6 more than Fury did round 5
Call it 59-58 at the half-way point with lots of leeway
Round 7: Pretty even until Usyk landed a good shot with a minute left, but overall another tie round. Usyk wins round at the end I think with another shot late
Round 8: Fury gets the uppercut again. Heads clash mid-round. Usyk doing more work though, except for brief period.
About 79-76 Usyk right now, which covers the close rounds, so at best for Fury it's 4-4 right now.
Round 9: Fury much better this round, probably got it though Usyk has his moments too especially late
Round 10: Fury trying to land big shots, working the uppercut well, wrestling a lot. If it were wrestling Fury would take this round. Announcers thing he won it handily but the ref should have been on Fury's case more.
Possibly 97-96 Usyk now if we give the last two to Fury.
Round 11: Close round that Usyk probably takes with a solid left against the ropes.
Round 12: Good back and forth last round, I give it to Usyk because he wanted to fight at the end and Fury just wanted to hold.
So my (half-assed) scorecard has Usyk winning 117-114, with extreme cards having Usyk 117-111 or a 114-114 draw
So I expect a majority or split decision one way or other, probably to Usyk. If Fury wins we'll see Usyk-Fury III in 2025.
The Judges: 116-112 for Usyk, wow
The judges pretty much saw it as I did, except they paid more attention than I did early I assume.
Now Usyk has beaten Fury twice, Joshua twice, and top contender Daniel Dubois once. Who is left to fight? Parker?
