In a huge upset, 5-seed Arizona used a monster 2nd half to take down defending national champion Duke, 93-77. Derrick Williams had 32 points, 25 in the 1st half. Kyrie Irvin had 28 for the Blue Devils.
Duke's finals game opponent from last year, Butler, held on to beat Wisconsin after taking a 22 point lead in the 2nd half. Wisconsin mounted a furious comeback but it fell short, 61-54. The Bulldogs held Badger big man Jon Leuer to 3 points on 1 of 12 shooting; Jordan Taylor had 22 but hit only 6 of 19. Matt Howard had 20 points for Butler.
Arizona will face Connecticut on Friday, while Butler will go up against Florida in the Elite Eight.
Duke got smacked and Uconn may lose by more! Derrick Williams is a beast! Who know's what he'll do in the NBA, but he looks like a man among boys in college. He should stay in school for at least another year to develop his already good offensive game even more, because he would be and slow small forward and a undersized power forward. He could be a better Shawn Marion. That being said, I think he can live up to Arizona's tradition of pretty good NBA players.
