Arkansas Little Rock, who finshed 5th in the West Division of the Sun Belt conference, earned a trip to the NCAA tournament, beating North Texas 64-63. The Trojans came into the game just 18-16 and while the Mean Green were only a 4th place finisher in the same division, they were 22-10 overall and expected to win. The Trojans will likely be a 16-seed and participate in one of the "First Four" games to get into the field of 64.
Meanwhile Oakland rolled over Oral Roberts 90-76 to win the Summit League's automatic bid, and Butler did every bubble team a favor by turning back a game challenge from Milwaukee.
The Bulldogs took a big halftime lead and withstood a huge run by the Panthers who were playing at home as the top seed in the Horizon League. In the end Butler's poise won out, 59-44, and the bubble won't lose a spot to Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
In the last non-tournament college basketball game, Princeton topped Penn to tie with Harvard for the regular-season Ivy League crown. As a tie-breaker, there will be a one-game playoff (or micro-tournament?) held on Saturday to determine the NCAA automatic bid from the conference.
