« December 1: Chagaev-Perez off, Tyson Fury vs. Kevin Johnson still on | Main | Belfort next in line for Anderson Silva? »

This guy had 3 weeks notice to fight Fury. Fury is a self publicised, over hyped fraud now attempting to negotiate a world title shot before he has even fully proven himself on the the European or even British level! Arrogant and deluded joke.

I agree with some of what you're saying Clint, but I wouldn't be so hard on him--he's only 24. And he's been pretty active, and by now has built up a pretty good resume of fights. I don't blame him for bypassing say, David Price, to get to a world title shot, though I would like to see the two fight in order to earn that shot. It doesn't happen that way these days anymore, probably because there are two "champions" so there have to be twice as many challengers. So instead of Price and Fury fighting to meet the champ, each of them will probably face *one* of the champs. When Vitali retires, we'll see more mixing it up of prospects, and fighters will have to earn their title shots, since there will be 1/2 as many title shots to go around.
