Since no power rating works well in the first few weeks—especially not in the first week—when using only this season's results, we've updated our Pre-Season Top 124 ratings with this week's results using a Bayesian modification of our pre-season Power Rating values.
The full top 124 can be found here. This is the new top ten:

First and foremost, Alabama has taken over the top spot based on their 41-14 throttling of Michigan. The former #1 USC Trojans are pushed to #2. Oklahoma fell quite a bit in rating but not in ranking, holding at #3 since LSU dropped more, falling to #5. Florida State rises to #4.
Oregon and Texas made small moves but Notre Dame took a bit leap into the top ten after beating Navy 50-10. Oklahoma State moved up one spot for beating Savannah State 84-0, even though their rating was almost unchanged. Michigan dropped to #10; they jury is out on the Wolverines but we don't judge them harshly for one poor game.
In the top 25, the biggest mover was Baylor, jumping 8 spots from 31 to 23 after a big win over SMU (59-24). Ohio State (beat Miami Ohio 56-10) leapt from 18 to 11, while Stanford (beat San Jose State 20-17) correspondingly dropped from 11 to 18. Wisconsin and Arkansas both fell four spots despite wins.
